Maintaining A Positive Attitude While Dealing With Isolation
- Lumina Grant
Are you feeling dejected and isolated?
Though life throws various challenges at us
daily, if we give up on those challenges we would become depressed.
Today, let us discover true happiness in the Lord and learn how to be happy by
looking at his word.
Happiness means different things to different
people. The definition of happiness differs from person to person. What makes
one smile, might make the other frown and visa versa.
So what does happiness mean???
Some might say that happiness depends on existing
circumstances. So does it mean a person would be happy only if he has
health, wealth, and other materialistic things in life? According to the Bible, (James
1:2-3 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials
of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces
perseverance.” NIV) so in reality, it is your philosophy
towards life that makes the difference.
Try and develop a positive attitude towards
life. Some pessimists might think “No amount of hardship can change my
situation” but it is psychologically proven that by adopting
a positive outlook you can cope better with stressful
situations. As the Bible says in (2 Corinthians 12:10 “That
is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships,
in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” NIV)
For our Lord knows well how we feel and what
we think, do not hide your struggles instead bring it to the Lord
in prayer.
So, during these days of isolation let
us maintain a positive attitude. Hard times and
stressful periods all shall pass, although it’s not easy to spot the silver
lining but having a positive attitude can help us push
through rough patches.
The following scripture readings will give you
comfort and hope during these stressful circumstances;
(Psalm 126:5 “ Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of
joy.” NIV)
(John 15:11 “I have told you this so that my
joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” NIV)
(Psalm 37:4 “Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the
desires of your heart.” NIV)
(Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with
you;
do not be dismayed, for I
am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my
righteous right hand.” NIV)
(Psalm 34:5 “Those who look to him are
radiant;
their faces are never
covered with shame.” NIV)
May the Almighty God shower his manifold
blessings upon us and may the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace,
believing that we may abid in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Praise the Lord……...
